About Bodies Health & Fitness
Bodies Health & Fitness Gym – Our Story:
Late nights and early mornings kept the doors of Brad & Jen McCleary’s in-home personal training studio open. With a passion to offer affordable personal training services to clients in the Kansas City area, business at Bodies by Brad & Jen, opened in 2006, boomed. Brad’s relational approach to training clients and Jen’s knowledge of nutrition attracted people looking for someone to help them with their fitness goals. Soon Bodies by Brad & Jen had outgrown the basement. The husband-and-wife duo moved the business to an open bay in an industrial area in south Lee’s Summit in May of 2009. Expanding the business to become ‘Bodies Personal Training’ – the larger studio space created a way to train more clients, hire a team, and expand services – like partnering with Brad’s longtime friend Dr. Nicole Dierking of Dynamic Spine & Joint Center.
Classmates Turned Business Partners – Enter Bodies Chiropractic
Setting out to open a Lee’s Summit chiropractic clinic, Dr. Nicole Dierking looked for the right location. In addition to establishing a clinic focused on manual chiropractic care, she needed a studio space that supported her treatment philosophy that exercise and nutrition carry an equal importance when it comes to pain relief and proper movement. Brad & Jen’s building offered a perfect fit. Nicole, also a Certified Personal Trainer, opened Dynamic Spine & Joint Center in 2012 in the upper level of Bodies Personal Training and joined the team as a trainer.
Brad & Nicole’s business partnership brought many good things. It reunited old high school friends who had both settled in Lee’s Summit, Mo. (Brad & Nicole both grew up in Alma, Mo. and were in the same graduating class) But, the partnership also ignited a dream where Brad, Jen and Nicole knew that they could build something even bigger.
Services continued to expand as even more people in the Kansas City Metro desired to get healthy and reach their fitness goals. Bodies Race Company formed to offer several 5K and 10K races for Kansas City-area runners through the Healthy Holiday Fun Run Series. Services out of the studio space expanded to include a nutritionist, massage therapist and additional team members. They launched an expanded sports-specific training program in fall 2013 to combine training and science to help athletes get to the next level of play. As services and team members grew, so did the plans for an all-inclusive, one-stop shop for getting healthy.
With sights set on making healthy living even more of a priority for patients, Brad, Nicole & Jen headed down the road of redefining themselves once again. In 2014 they merged their businesses to form one, all-inclusive business – Bodies Health & Fitness – a one-stop shop for healthy living.
With a vision of building a healthy community, Bodies Health & Fitness offers integrated services that can help anyone, at any time, get healthy.
